DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival, Introduction & Gear Check
• Transfer from Srinagar to Yaarana Himalayan Nest, your home for the next 7 days. 
• Enjoy lunch and get to know your fellow riders.
• Introduction session over high tea.
• Drive to Gulmarg to collect your snowboard equipment and  ensure the perfect fit.
• Evening theory session covering course overview, mountain safety, and a snowboarding film screening.

Day 2: Fundamentals of Snowboarding
• Post breakfast, drive to the bunny slopes of Gulmarg.
• Introduction to snowboard equipment and stance.
• Learn skating, gliding, and basic movement on snow.
• Practice one-foot riding and straight glides.
• Practice balance and body positioning on gentle slopes.
• Evening Q&A session with a film screening.

Day 3: Balancing and Control
• Warm-up and mobility exercises.
• Learn breaking techniques and speed control.
• Build confidence through repeated drills on bunny slopes.
• Evening video analysis and discussion.

Day 4: Traversing to Turns 
• Learn what you should and shouldn’t attempt based on your current skill level.
• Continue improving balance and control with guided practice & feedback throughout the day.
• Evening discussion on Mountain Awareness

Day 5: Edge Control
• Learn heel-side and toe-side edge control.
• Practice linking turns and maintaining rhythm.
• Improve posture, balance, and confidence on steeper terrain.
• Evening review and progress discussion.
• Session on Avalanche Safety and Mountain Awareness with film screening

Day 5: Edge Control
• Learn heel-side and toe-side edge control.

Day 6: Freeride & Exploration
• Upgrade to higher slopes: Gondola Phase 1
• Apply all the skills learned throughout the course.
• Learn how to adapt to changing snow conditions.
• Ride with instructors.
• Celebrate your progress with a group dinner session.

Day 7: Final Assessment & Certification
• Final riding assessment with instructors on Phase 1 or Chairlift.
• Return of equipment.
• Individual feedback and tips for future progression.
• Evening time: Certificate distribution and group photographs.

HOW TO REACH SRINAGAR

How to Reach Srinagar

Reaching Srinagar is quite easy, and you can choose what suits you best:
 
By Air (Most Convenient )
Srinagar has its own airport — Sheikh Ul-Alam International Airport (SXR).
It’s well-connected with major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bangalore, and Jammu.
From the airport, taxis are easily available to reach the main city.
 
By Train (Indirect but Possible )
There’s no direct train to Srinagar yet.
You can take a train to Jammu Tawi or Udhampur, and then continue by taxi or bus to Srinagar.
 
By Bus (Budget-friendly)
State-run and private buses operate between Jammu and Srinagar.
You can choose from standard, deluxe, or Volvo options.
 
By Road (Scenic Route )
You can also reach Srinagar by road via Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH44).
The route is beautiful but depends on weather, especially in winter.
•Jammu to Srinagar: ~260 km (takes 7–9 hours)
•Best for those coming from Delhi, Punjab, Himachal, or Jammu.

When should i reach Srinagar?
Ans: Everyone joining the course should ideally reach Srinagar a day before for better Rest and  Acclamatisation.

Who can join this snowboarding course?
Ans: Anyone above 10 year old can join. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for adventure!

Where is the course conducted?
Ans: The course takes place in Gulmarg – India’s best snowboarding destinations.

Do I need to bring my own snowboard?
Ans: No, we provide all the necessary gear, including snowboards, boots, and safety equipment like helmet.

What should I wear for the course?
Ans: Please refer to the essential checklist. Items like gloves, jackets, pants and googgles can be rented. 

How long does it take to learn snowboarding?
Ans: With proper training, beginners can start riding bunny slopes in 3-4 days, and by the end of 7 days, you’ll be confident on bigger slopes.

Is snowboarding physically demanding?
Ans: It requires balance and coordination, but no extreme fitness level is needed. Regular exercise can help prepare for the course. Be-Flexible!

What kind of accommodation is available?
Ans: Comfortable stays are arranged near the training slopes, ensuring easy access to the course location.

Will I get a certificate after the course?
Ans: Yes! Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate recognizing your skills and progress.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Ans: Training continues in most weather conditions, but in case of extreme snowfall or storms, sessions may be cancelled.

IMPORTANT NOTES

As Kashmir experiences its peak season from December to March, room prices can rise to ₹10,000 per night. Booking early is a smart decision, as prices will continue to increase the longer you wait.
