What time should I book my return bus/flight on Day 8?
Ans: You will reach delhi by 7 am on Day 8. You can book your return flight/train by noon.
What is the best time to take this trip?
Ans: The best time is from June to October, when the weather is pleasant, and the roads to Zanskar are open. The valley’s natural beauty is most vibrant during this period.
What is the total distance covered during the Zanskar Valley Trip?
Ans: The total distance covered during the 7-day trip is approximately 1,200–1,300 km, starting and ending in Manali.
How physically demanding is the trip?
Ans: This trip is of moderate difficulty. While there will be some long drives, the itinerary includes a good mix of sightseeing, short walks, and optional light hikes. No prior trekking experience is needed.
How large can the group be?
Ans: We host groups of 3–15 people to ensure a more personal, intimate, and immersive experience.
What kind of food will be served?
Ans: Nutritious meals, mainly local, North Indian and Tibetan cuisine, will be served. Vegetarian preferences and basic dietary needs are accommodated.
What kind of accommodation is provided?
Ans: You’ll stay in a mix of local guesthouses, homestays, and simple hotels. While accommodations are clean and comfortable, luxury is limited in remote regions like Gonbo Rangjon or Purne.

Important Notes for the Zanskar Valley Trip:
Altitude Awareness: Zanskar Valley involves high-altitude travel (up to 5,000m at Shinkula Pass). Proper acclimatisation is essential. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, and rest adequately.
Start Physically Prepared: Though it’s a road trip, long drives and basic hikes can be physically taxing. Begin light cardio and walking practice at least 2 weeks prior.
Mobile Network: BSNL and Jio have limited coverage in Zanskar. Expect long stretches without network or internet. Inform family beforehand.
Limited ATMs & Card Use: Withdraw cash before leaving Manali or Keylong. Most areas in Zanskar don’t support digital payments.
Pack Light but Smart: Layered warm clothing, thermals, windcheater, sunscreen, sunglasses, moisturiser, and lip balm are essential—even in summer months.
Road Conditions: Expect bumpy, dusty roads and river crossings. Vehicles may occasionally get delayed due to landslides or water levels—flexibility is key.
Respect Local Culture: You’ll pass through remote monasteries and villages—dress modestly, ask before clicking pictures, and be mindful of local customs.
Carry Snacks & Reusables: Carry dry snacks, reusable water bottles, and minimal plastic to reduce waste. Zanskar is ecologically sensitive.
